Welcome to the home page for The Grove Primary School!
Welcome to our website and I hope that you find all the information you need – if not, please contact our school office who will endeavour to help you.
I am very proud, and privileged, to be Headteacher of The Grove Primary School. I took up the post in late April 2020 and cannot imagine being anywhere else! This is my third headship and I have been in primary education nearly 25 years.
We pride ourselves in ensuring that we provide a curriculum which supports our children as learners in every sense of the word and we strive to continually develop and improve our offer as the world continues to change and adapt. We compare our thinking to a tree:
Firstly, you need strong roots to establish the great conditions for learning.
Secondly, you need a strong trunk where you build the knowledge and skills you need.
Finally, up in the canopy you need the opportunity to explore the possibilities around you.
Every child is an individual and we pride ourselves on working closely with parents to ensure that everyone’s needs are met. Class teachers mould and develop the curriculum to make sure every child has the opportunity to be successful and leave us ready for the next stage of their education – where ever that may be. As a school, we have an inclusion unit which provides a bespoke provision for some of our most complex and vulnerable learners.
We have a fantastic building with lots of space both indoors and outdoors. Our building is bright, airy and well loved. Unlike most schools, we also have our own pool which we use for swimming lessons across the school. We also have a well respected Breakfast and After school Club (now known as The Orchard and formally The Pitstop) which is accessible to all parents who need it.
